Our newest member, Jean being initiated into our club.  Welcome to the Rotary.

On March 19th, 2019, CMR was proud to welcome our newest member, Jean into our Rotary Club.  The ceremony took place at the Cortlandt Colonial, in Cortlandt Manor, the clubs regular Tuesday evening meeting place.  Kris, District 7230 District Governor was on hand to present her with her Rotary pin.  Jean was accompanied by her husband, Dan, of 51 years, and one of her daughters, Sarah.

Over 20 guests watched our president Vicki preside over this important event. Our Sergeant of Arms, Herb Winkelmann led off the proceedings.  A rousing rendition of our national anthem was sung by Gladys who has a beautiful voice.  Vicki gave an emotional Rotary Moment describing her initial encounter with our RCC of Keon, and the parents of the members in the club.  Three RCC of Keon members were present with Charter President and RCC founder Sharon Irving.  Michelle followed with a Rotary Minute on the Rotary's flag history.

Jean was sponsored by Cynthia, who met her through the Real Estate business that they are both in.  A bio was read on Jean's life and volunteer services she has been involved in.  She was described as having a sense of humor, and excellent leadership skills.

The meeting closed with the CMR traditional humorous story supplied by Herb, our Sergeant of Arms.  It was followed by everyone contributing happy dollars to the welcoming of Jean into the Rotary.

Congratulations Jean!
